[How To] Configure FTP settings in Dreamweaver

1. On the Tool Bar of Dreamweaver, click Site
2. Select "Define Sites" and Click "New"
3. Use the "Advanced" Tab

Under Local Info Use the following settings:

Site Name: yourdomain.com
Local Folder: This is where you store your web site files on your local PC
HTTP Address: http://yourdomain.com
Enable Cache: check the Dreamweaver documentation to see if you want to enabled this or not.

Under Remote Info
Access: FTP
FTP Host: yourdomain.com
Host Directory: public_html
login: ftp username
password: ftp password
Save: Check the box
Use Passive FTP: checked or unchecked. If you have difficulty retaining your ftp connection, or the connection constantly times out, try toggling this mode to see what works best for you.

Use Firewall: If your Computer is behind a personal firewall, then simply set the configuration. If you do not know what this is, leave it blank.
Enable Checkin/Checkout: Leave this blank unless you understand the implecations of enabling this function.
